Most everyday, organizations will perform important business functions like- filling orders and meeting payroll, creating call logs. Cyber criminals are well aware that- if they get their hands on sensitive data- they can prosper. We see examples of identity theft, fraud, etc. doing real damage to businesses. With the costs of a security breach increasing (lawsuits and/or losing your customers' trust), it is obvious that safeguarding personal information is just plain ole good business.

Some businesses have the expertise in-house to implement an appropriate plan, but need a cybersecurity expert to guide the process. Other businesses need a partner to not only create a cybersecurity plan but also implement it.

E-Panzer Security is the trusted partner for businesses large and small. We offer- vulnerability management, Threat hunting, Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing. We also offer Cyber Security Managed Service, ONESOURCE, One Trusted Partner and Cyber Security Insurance!

HERE are the recommendations from the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)  A sound data security plan is built on 5 key principles:  pdf-0136_proteting-personal-information.pdf

  1. TAKE STOCK. Know what personal information you have in your files and on your computers.
  2. SCALE DOWN. Keep only what you need for your business.
  3. LOCK IT. Protect the information that you keep.
  4. PITCH IT. Properly dispose of what you no longer need.
  5. PLAN AHEAD. Create a plan to respond to security incidents.

One size does not fit all

There is definitely no one size fits all for your cybersecurity needs. That is why having a partner like E-Panzer is so important. We always do a complete security assessment of your organization from the nature of your business to the type of information you collect from your clients. But don't forget- some of the most effective security measures—using strong passwords, locking up sensitive paperwork, training your staff, etc. are at your disposal now. What we have learned for certain- it is important to invest in better data security than to lose the goodwill of your customers, defend yourself in legal actions, and face other possible consequences of a data breach.
